25 Upper Gray Street, Edinburgh

23 Upper Gray Street in Edinburgh is an early 19th-century pair of classical houses that has undergone some later alterations. The building is two stories high and features a symmetrical four-bay design, constructed from lightly stugged cream sandstone ashlar. It has a base course, a cill course for the first-floor windows, a cornice, and a blocking course.

On the west (entrance) elevation, there are doorways in the second and third bays, each with panelled doors and geometric small-paned fanlights. Above these doorways are single windows, with additional windows in the outer left and right bays. The ground floor on the outer right has non-traditional shutters and a cartwheel. The windows of No 23 are 12-pane timber sash and case, while No 25 features plate glass timber sash and case windows. The roof is pitched with grey slate and includes two later box dormer windows, along with a shared coped ridge stack that has moulded cans to the south.

The interior was not seen in 1995. The property is enclosed by low coped boundary walls topped with replacement railings.
