Gate-Piers And Pedestrian Gate, Boundary Walls, 10 Salisbury Road, Edinburgh

10 Salisbury Road is a classical house built in 1815. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure with a two-storey wing attached to the east. The house is constructed from lightly stugged, cream sandstone ashlar and features a base course, a dividing band course, a cill course for the first-floor windows, a cornice, and a blocking course.

The northern entrance elevation has a central doorway with a panelled door and a plate glass fanlight above. This doorway is flanked by panelled pilasters leading to a corniced, painted doorpiece. There is a single window on the first floor above the doorway and additional windows in the outer left and right bays. The two-storey wing has a panelled door with a two-light fanlight above it, and a single window to the right, with another window on the first floor above.

The windows are timber, sash and case style, with plate glass, and the window above the doorway features etched glass. The roof is pitched with grey slate and includes a pedimented bipartite dormer. The house has coped rubble wallhead stacks, with a single stack on the east wing, and moulded cans.

The interior was not seen in 1995. The property is enclosed by low coursed rubble boundary walls, with droved ashlar gatepiers that have corniced pyramidal caps. There is a pedestrian gate located to the west of the house.
