37 Salisbury Road, Edinburgh

35 Salisbury Road is a pair of classical houses built around 1825. They are two stories high and have three symmetrical bays. The houses are constructed from cream sandstone ashlar, with rubble on the east side and rendering on the west. Architectural features include a base course, a dividing band course, a cill course for the first-floor windows, architraves, a cornice, and a blocking course, which is raised in the center to accommodate carriage gates.

The south entrance elevation features Ionic columns and a cornice above a central doorpiece that includes both doorways. The doorways have panelled doors and plate glass fanlights, with single windows above the doorways and in the outer left and right bays.

On the east and west elevations, there are stair windows located between the floors. The windows throughout the houses are made of plate glass and timber, with sash and case designs. The first floor of No. 35 has four-pane windows, while the ground floor features bipartite upper sashes. The stair windows have six-pane upper sashes and plate glass lower sashes. The roofs are covered with grey slate and have piended designs, with coped, rendered wallhead stacks and moulded cans.

The interior was not seen in 1995. The property includes low coursed and coped boundary walls along the street, with higher rubble mutual walls and original railings. There are carriage gates leading to modern garages behind the houses.
