Description

Mid 19th century. 3 storey with attic, 7-bay near rectangular-plan classical houses, forming part of terrace. Polished sandstone ashlar; painted doorpieces. Band course to ground floor at cornice level; architraved windows; lugged cills.

N (ENTRANCE ELEVATION): pilastered doorpieces to Nos 17 and 21; plain doorway to No 19; panelled timber doors; fanlights; single windows to flanking bays at ground; regular fenestration to upper floors; blocked window to 2nd floor above entrance to No 19; 2 dormers to roof of No 21.

Variety of 2-, 12- and upper 6-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate piended roof. Corniced wallhead stack with corniced cans above entrance to No 19; coped mutual stack with corniced can to outer right of No 21. Cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIORS: not seen 1997.

BOUNDARY WALLS: coped, coursed boundary walls to street, mainly with replacement iron railings.
