11, 13, 15 Gilmore Place, Edinburgh

5, 7, 9 Gilmore Place is a mid-19th century classical terrace consisting of 14 bays and three storeys with an attic. It has a rectangular plan and is constructed of polished sandstone ashlar. The doorpieces are painted, with Nos 5-9 also painted at the ground level. There is a band course at the ground floor level, and the windows are architraved with lugged cills.

On the north entrance elevation, the doorpieces for Nos 5, 9, 11, and 15 are pilastered, while Nos 7 and 13 have plain recessed doorways. The doors are panelled timber with plate glass fanlights above. There are single windows in the intermediate and flanking bays at the ground level, and the fenestration is regular on the first and second floors, although the windows above the entrances to Nos 7 and 15 on the second floor are blocked. The roof features four canted dormers, with two in the centre and one on each outer side.

The terrace includes a variety of single and six-pane upper timber sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a piended shape. There are corniced wallhead stacks above the entrances to Nos 7 and 13, as well as coped mutual apex stacks with corniced cans. The property has cast-iron rainwater goods.

The interiors were not seen in 1997. The boundary walls are coped and coursed, primarily with replacement iron railings.
