Description

Earlier 19th century with modern extension to rear. 2 storey, 4 bay symmetrical pair of classical houses. Cream sandstone ashlar, rusticated at ground; rubble to sides and rear. Base course; string course; dividing band course; cill course to 1st floor windows; cast iron, palmette and anthemion pattern window guards to 1st floor windows of No 19; cornice and blocking course raised at centre.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: engaged Doric columns flanking recessed, segmental arched doorways to central bays; plate glass fanlight to

No 20, simplified umbrella fanlight to No 19; single windows to 1st floor above. Single windows in segmental arched panels flanking doorways; single windows to 1st floor above.

Plate glass, timber sash and case windows. Grey slate piended roof; coped wallhead stack to N.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND PEDESTRIAN GATES: low coped and coursed boundary wall to street; higher rubble walls to N and S; replacement railings. Pedestrian gates adjoining houses to N and S.
