3-4 Great Michael Close, Newhaven, Edinburgh

3-4 Great Michael Close in Newhaven, Edinburgh, is a pair of houses built in the mid to later 18th century and later recast and converted by Ian Lindsay & Partners around 1970. The two-storey, four-bay houses are part of a terrace and feature harled and limewashed walls with raised and painted cement surrounds around the openings. There is an exterior stair with timber railings leading to the first floor.

On the west elevation facing Great Michael Close, there is a boarded two-leaf timber door set within a stair recess at No 4, with a single window to the right and a timber door beneath the stairs. The stairs lead to a two-leaf boarded door at the first floor, with a single window in the outer right bay and single windows on both floors in the outer left bay.

All openings have 12-pane timber sash and case windows. The roof is machine-made red pantiles with a rooflight at the center.
