24 Princes Street, Edinburgh

24 Princes Street in Edinburgh is an earlier 19th-century building that has undergone subsequent alterations. It is a four-storey corner block with modern shops at the ground level. The exterior features painted lined render with ashlar dressings and railings above the shops. The building has three bays facing Princes Street and two bays on South St Andrews Street. The angle is swept at the first floor, with corbelled long and short quoins above. There is a band course above the first floor and a cill course to the second floor, topped with a cornice and a balustraded parapet. The windows are architraved, with timber sash and case windows, and casements on the second floor. The roof is piended, with rendered stacks and grey slates. The interior has modernised shops at the ground level.
