Public Conveniences, Dungallan Parks, Gallanach Road, Oban

The building is a public convenience located in Dungallan Parks on Gallanach Road in Oban, dated 1933. It is a single-storey, symmetrical viewing shelter that incorporates public toilets at either end, designed in a simple classical style. The structure has a splayed U-plan and is constructed from concrete blocks.

The west elevation features a loggia with five bays, which is divided by four circular columns that have capitals and bases. This loggia is flanked by pilastered end bays that contain doorways leading to the toilets. The loggia is lined with vertical timber boarding and has a timber bench along its base. The flat roof is surrounded by a parapet with a coping. At the centre of the three-bay roadside (rear) elevation, there is a segmental pediment that includes a datestone. The building also has cast-iron downpipes with decorative brackets and rectangular hoppers located next to the doors.

The interior has not been seen since it was out of use in 1994. A rubble retaining wall supports the road level and is topped with a parapet that alternates with a balustrade made of concrete square profiled balusters. There are steps at the north and south ends, as well as symmetrical ramps leading from the road to the loggia level, which also feature balustrades with concrete square profiled balusters. Additionally, cast-iron lamp standards with fluted stems are present along the pavement.
