Description

Later 19th century. 2-storey, gabled L-plan villa on falling ground to E with rectangular-plan, gabled, 3-storey tower to N. Rubble with harl-pointing; painted ashlar margins and dressings. Projecting eaves, exposed rafters. Band course on E elevation; quoin strips, stugged quoins.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: L-plan villa to right with piend-roofed glazed porch in re-entrant angle, blank wall to outer right, windows symmetrically disposed in outer right gable, broad window at ground. Rectangular-plan gabled tower to outer left, window at 1st floor, attic; windows on right return.

E ELEVATION: raised basement, canted bay to outer right from basement to 1st floor, small windows symmetrically disposed at basement level with margins interrupting band course; narrow bay at centre; broad gable advanced to outer right, window with stepped hoodmould, window in gablehead; garage block to outer right, boarded garage door with upper lights; modern flat-roofed rendered addition above built as 2nd storey in re-entrant angle (modern windows); tower recessed behind, window at 1st floor, 2nd floor.

4-pane timber sash and case windows; grey slate roof, lead flashings; coped ridge stacks, some lotus leaf cans.
