Description

The Mausoleum at Stonefield Estate, dated 1855 and attributed to William Playfair, is designed in the Gothic Revival style. It is constructed from coursed rubble and ashlar, topped with a gabled stone slab roof featuring a cross at the apex. The structure has five closely set buttresses on each side and a moulded pointed arch at the front, above which are the Stonefield arms and motto. The front also bears the inscription "ERECTED MDCCCLV". At the rear, there is a slit window.
