Description

The Newtyle Railway Bridge, built in 1831 by engineers Charles Landale and Matthias Dunn, is a single-span, keystoned round-arch bridge that once served a railway over the Dichty Water. It features rubble construction with irregular ashlar voussoirs that are stugged and margined, numbered 1-16 from the impost to the keystone on both sides. The parapet has largely been removed, although some large coping stones remain on site, and the bridge has curved approaches.
