8-10 Chapel Place, Montrose

8-10 Chapel Place is an early 19th-century, two-storey and attic, four-bay terraced flatted tenement. The front is made of sandstone ashlar and features a base course, a band course above the ground floor, and a large central nepus gable.

On the east elevation, there are two doorways located in the center and left of center, which originally flanked a central window. Both doorways have rectangular fanlights, though the one to the right is boarded. To the right at ground level, there are two windows (one of which was previously a door) and one window to the left. The first floor is symmetrical with four bays, featuring a round-arch window in the nepus gable and piended dormers that are set high in the pitch and flanking the gable.

The north elevation adjoins 7 Chapel Place, while the south elevation adjoins 11 Chapel Place. The building has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, with a plate glass replacement in the left dormer. The roof is pitched with grey slate, and there are stone skews and skewputts. Rendered gablehead stacks are present on both the north and south sides.
