Description

The Commemorative Pedestal at Brechin Reservoir was erected to mark the inauguration of the reservoir in October 1874, which was designed by J M Gale, a water engineer from Glasgow. This cast-iron pedestal features pilastered angles and an inscribed panel. The top is ogee-domed and has a faintly "Thomsonesque" appearance, topped with a very elaborate and delicate tall metal finial.
