Carnoustie, Links Parade, Carnoustie Rugby Club Pavilion (Former Tennis Club Pavilion) Excluding Yacht Club Extension To South East

Carnoustie Rugby Club Pavilion, originally a tennis club pavilion, dates from the early 20th century. It is a single-storey building with a basement, featuring a rough rectangular plan and a symmetrical design. The pavilion has three bays, a three-light canted polygonal roof bay, and an open veranda supported by cast-iron Corinthian columns with decorative spandrels. The basement is made of brick, creating a deep base course, while the ground floor has a timber frame with rendered nogging and painted timber facing. The eaves are overhanging, showcasing a timber boarded soffit and exposed rafter ends. A later addition includes a square clock tower on the roof.

Inside, as seen in 2012, the principal rooms feature painted timber framing, a corniced dado, and a moulded cornice. The windows have predominantly 9 panes over a single pane in timber frames, with the canted bay having 6 panes over a single pane. The roof is piended and covered with slate. The interior was mainly remodelled around the 1970s, including the addition of partitioning.
