Description
Carnoustie, 12 Links Parade is a single-storey, three-bay symmetrical golf clubhouse built in 1895 by David Fraser, with later additions. The clubhouse features decorative cast-iron columns and spandrels on the veranda, along with a central gable that displays a pair of roundels with cast female heads. It overlooks the golf links to the south and is constructed from bull-faced red sandstone with ashlar detailing and long and short margins. The end bays have bipartite windows with stone mullions, and the columns have fluted bases and Corinthian capitals. The entrance door is located on the east elevation and is accessed by stone steps.
The rear (north) elevation includes a piended-roof outshot from 1895, which has been extended to the north and west in the 20th century. There is also a small, flat-roofed addition on the west elevation from the 20th century. The building features replacement glazing and a piended slate roof with clay ridge tiles, along with tall square end stacks that have copes and clay cans.
Surrounding the property are low rubble boundary walls and a pair of gatepiers with chamfered copes.
