Description
Carnoustie, 6 Links Parade, is an early 20th century single-storey golf shop with a rectangular plan, situated overlooking the golf links to the south. The building features a cylindrical ogee-roofed pavilion at the southwest corner. It is constructed of red brick with a stone cill course, while the pavilion is rendered. The shop has segmental arched windows.
On the south elevation, which serves as the entrance, there is a veranda to the right, supported by turned timber columns and featuring timber balustrading and a flat roof. The soffit is finished with timber boarding. To the right, there is a panelled timber entrance door accompanied by a 6-pane rectangular fanlight.
The east elevation has four windows, with the leftmost and an off-centre window to the right now blind. The west elevation contains three windows, with the central window also now blind. The north elevation, or rear, has a full-width lean-to with a door on the right return and a window on the left return.
The south elevation features timber windows with 6-pane over 2-pane glazing, while the pavilion windows have curved glazing. The side elevations have timber windows with 16-pane glazing. The roof is piended, covered with grey slates, and includes 2-pane roof lights, along with clay ridge tiles and finials.
The interior was remodelled in 2009, incorporating period fixtures such as a cast-iron spiral staircase and range, along with a glazed and timber inner door and an original workbench.
