Description
The dovecot, situated at Turner Hall, dates to 1787. It has a square plan with battered walls and a pyramid roof covered in slate, topped with a stone finial. A single stone course defines the walls, and there is a chamfered doorway. The structure incorporates wood and brick boxes. The building is now ruinous.
The main mansionhouse of Turner Hall was demolished in 1933. The dovecot’s origins may extend back to the 17th century, with a reconstruction carried out by D. MacAndrew in 1861. Only the walled garden and kennels remain as contemporary features; these do not possess any special features.
