Description
White Bridge is a cast-iron footbridge built in 1879 by engineer G S Hird and the Blaikie Brothers. It features a single span with a shallow segmental arch over the Carron Water. The bridge is constructed in three sections and has a dated makers plaque on the central riveted girder. It includes a wrought-iron quatrefoil parapet and cast-iron standards, with a wrought-iron arch at the center. The terminal piers are made of ashlar and have a pyramidally-coped, stop-chamfered design.
