Description
Aboyne Bridge, located on Bridgeview Road in Aboyne, was designed by F A Macdonald & Partners, Engineers, from Glasgow, with architectural input from George Bennett Mitchell, and was constructed around 1937. This bridge features seven segmental arches and a three-hinged portal frame made of reinforced concrete, spanning the River Dee. The principal arch has a span of 51.8 meters, with a single flood arch to the north and five flood arches to the south. The structure includes reinforced concrete abutments and piers, along with coped, pre-cast concrete block parapets.
