Description
The Clydesdale Bank, located at 1 Main Street in Turriff, was built around 1870. It is a two-storey building with an attic and features a three-window front facing Main Street. The central porch has a parapet, and there are segmental-arched windows and a doorpiece on the ground floor. The building includes string courses at both the first and attic floors, as well as two gableted wallhead dormers. At the corner of the building, there is a square-plan three-storey tower with canted angles at the first floor, which is corbelled to a square shape at the second floor. The tower has stepped gablets and a tall French pavilion roof with cresting.
