Description
The building is a hotel located at 10 Bridge Street in Banff, constructed in 1896, likely incorporating earlier elements. It features a two-storey and attic design with a four-bay elevation facing Bridge Street and a return gable and wing that create five bays along Reid Street. There is also an additional two-storey, four-bay block on Reid Street, which serves as a bar. The façade facing Bridge Street is painted, while the Reid Street side is made of harled rubble with long and short work, and the bar block is also harled.
The entrance on Bridge Street has a bracketed cornice and includes a re-used datestone from 1770. There is a curved angle bay with a first-floor window that has plate glass glazing, along with two canted wallhead dormers on Bridge Street and one on Reid Street. The building features plate glass glazing in its sash and case windows, corniced end stacks, and slate roofs.
