Description
This building is a two-storey and attic house with a ground-floor shop, dating from 1860 and built by John Stuart of Muchalls. It is harled with margins and features a four-arch shop front at street level, and two windows on the first floor. Canted dormers light the attic space. The building is part of a group of similar houses constructed during the 1860s at the station and along the Lumphanan frontage; the architectural style is of a simple, traditional pattern and not of particular distinction. Contracts for the building's construction were advertised in the Aberdeen Journal on May 30th, 1860.
