Description
Glenmillan House is a Baronial-style mansion house built in 1872 by James Matthews. It is an L-shaped building with a distinctive circular balustraded entrance tower. The walls are harled with granite dressings. The house incorporates some late 18th-century fireplaces. A tympanum dating from 1888 is built into the wall of the stableblock. Contracts relating to the construction, and suggesting the incorporation of older elements, were reported in the Aberdeen Journal on May 10th, 1871.
