Description
The building comprises offices and a manse, dating from 1828 to 1869. It has a basic, single-storey layout with a short, two-storey section that originally served as a watch-house. The building is partially derelict. While previously listed as a Building of Importance (Grade B), it was re-categorised in 2006 as a Category C building, reflecting its primary group value and relevance within the surrounding historical context. This listing covers both the interior and exterior of the building as appropriate. Further details can be found in Hay’s Post-Reformation Churches (page 243), James Ritchie’s publication in the Proceedings of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland (volume XLVI, page 294), contracts published in the Aberdeen Journal on April 28th, 1869, and Heritors' Records.
