Description
West Lodge, designed by Sir Robert Lorimer in 1902, is a single-storey building with an attic, featuring a semi-circular stair tower and shaped gables, all rendered in harling. The gatepiers are of a broken pediment design, accompanied by wrought iron gates similar to those at Pitkerro, Dundee. Craigmyle House itself, initially built in 1676 and later extended by Lorimer, has been entirely demolished, leaving only the offices and walled garden standing. The lodge presents a two-storey, five-window facade with a prominent, tall gable in the centre. Further information can be found in Hussey's book on Lorimer.
