Description
The Learney Arms Hotel is a building of group value, comprising an early 19th century or earlier rear section and a later front block. The original rear portion is in an L-shape and is harled with margins. A prominent canted entrance bay is incorporated into the angle of the rear section. The front part of the hotel was constructed in 1874 or later, and is of two storeys and an attic, built in ashlar granite. A three-storey tower is a feature of the front elevation. Contracts for the building appeared in the Aberdeen Journal on April 8th, 1874, though the architect is not specified.
