Description
The Waterwheel at the Mill of Tifty is a small structure built in the mid-19th century using rubble. It features a double lean-to roof measuring 10 feet by 2 feet 6 inches. Inside, there is an iron overshot wheel located in the southern compartment, along with reduction gear and pulley wheels in the northern compartment. The system includes a conveying rope drive that extends approximately 450 feet uphill to the steading, although the pulley poles have now been removed. The waterwheel is currently disused, but the equipment remains complete.
