Description
Millbrex Church is an ecclesiastical building constructed in 1881-82 by Pirie and Clyne. The church has a rectangular plan, incorporating a U-gallery. It is designed with a two-storey treatment to the flanks and is built of rough-faced red ashlar. The front elevation is of a singular character, featuring a circular spirelet that corbels from buttresses on the north-west side, and a marked batter at the base. The original furnishings remain. The church is in continuous use for religious purposes. Contracts relating to its construction were reported in the Daily Free Press on September 30, 1881, and it is further discussed in McWilliam's Kirks of the Turriff Presbytery on page 63.
