Description

Durn Toll House in Portsoy is an earlier 19th century single-storey toll cottage that features canted end gables and a modern extension added in the 1980s, designed to be sympathetic to the original style. The building is constructed of harl pointed rubble with tooled rubble dressings. The entrance is located in the 1980s three-bay wing, and there are windows on each outer face of the canted gables, fitted with modern four-pane glazing. A tall ridge stack is present, and the roof is covered with piended slate. The garden is enclosed by a low coped harled wall.
