Description
The Former Gunroom at Pittodrie House, located in Chapel of Garioch, dates to the 18th century in its current form, although the lower part may date back to the 16th century due to its vaulting and shotholes. This low, two-storey building has a rectangular plan and is situated immediately north of Pittodrie House. It is harled and features a piended slate roof. The east and west elevations have a roughly regular arrangement of windows, and there is a chimney stack at the center of the west elevation. A forestair is present on the south elevation, and there is a variety of glazing patterns in the timber frames.
The interior, which was observed in 2017, includes two transverse vaults.
