Sundial in walled garden at Pittodrie House, Chapel of Garioch

The walled garden at Pittodrie House in Chapel of Garioch is a large, rectangular structure built in the early 19th century as part of improvements to the estate. It features high granite rubble walls with coped tops, and the south wall is slightly lower than the others, with convex curves at each corner.

On the north wall, slightly off-centre to the west, there is a lean-to glasshouse. This glasshouse has a coursed rubble base and is topped with two courses of brick, featuring rectangular panes of glass set in timber frames. Next to the glasshouse, there is an opening in the wall with a decorative iron gate. Additionally, the south wall has a central entrance opening, also with a decorative iron gate.

In the middle of the garden, there is a circular flower bed bordered with moulded stone. To the west of this bed stands a horizontal sundial, which is mounted on a shaped baluster pedestal with a square plinth base.
