Description

Drumrossie House is probably mainly an 18th century building, taking the form of a long, low single-storey U-plan. It is constructed of pinned boulder rubble, with a panel dating from 1687. The gables of the wings were rebuilt around 1840 in a style influenced by John and William Smith, incorporating bay windows, finials, and a porch inserted into the angle. A circular entrance hall and other interior decoration date from this period. A lean-to Gothic corridor is slightly earlier. At the rear of the house is a two-storey block of offices.
