Description

The dovecot at Kinnairdy Castle dates back to the 17th century and was restored around 1985. It features a square plan and consists of two stages, situated on sloping ground to the southwest of the castle. The structure is built of rubble with ashlar dressings, and there is an alighting course that divides the two stages. A door is located on the south side, with a window and flight holes positioned above it. The roof is covered with grey slates and has a renewed pyramidal shape, complete with swept eaves and a ball finial.

Adjacent to the dovecot are the remains of a contemporary walled garden, which consists of ruinous rubble walls enclosing a small area.
