Description
Pitmedden House is a 2-storey building, likely designed by Wm. Henderson in 1853, although Prentice suggests it was rebuilt in 1860 for Sir William Coote Seton. The house incorporates remnants of an older structure that suffered fire damage in 1818. It features an asymmetrical design, harled exterior with granite margins, and partly crow-stepped gables. Notable alterations include the removal of a porch, the formation of a central pend, and the remodelling of the eastern front by A.G.R. Mackenzie between 1954 and 1955. The outbuildings located on the northern side date back to the 18th century.
