Description
Udny Parish Church was designed by John Smith in 1821 and showcases a Tudor Gothic style. The church has a rectangular plan and features four windows, with the south windows being blind. The flanks are harled, while the south gable is constructed of rough ashlar and is supported by diagonal buttresses. The tower is squat, battlemented, and topped with pinnacles, with a clock stage dated 1895. The original glazing remains intact.
Inside, there is a vaulted porch within the tower and original details at the gallery stairs. The body of the church was remodeled by A. Marshall Mackenzie (Matthews & Mackenzie) in 1890, which included an open roof and an organ chamber located behind the pulpit. New gallery fronts were fitted to the original U-plan gallery, which is supported by quatrefoil piers, and the pulpit has been altered. The north window was added in 1927, and there is a bell inscribed "CHRISTS KIRK OF THE GREEN UDNY 1821" by Thomas Mears II, along with a John Warner Bell from 1895.
