Description
The Well of Tarlair in Macduff is a small rectangular wellhouse constructed in the later 18th to early 19th century. It is built of rubble and features later harling. There are blocked entrances in the east and west gables, and a small soak-away vent is located at the base of the north elevation. The roof is a piended bellcast concrete design, likely replacing an earlier stone slab covering.
Inside, the wellhouse has a vaulted rubble interior with a dished stone gutter running through the center. There are rough stone benches against the west wall.
