Description
Later 19th century. Single storey and attic, 4-bay pair of 2-bay semi-detached villas in cottage orne style. Tooled Aberdeen bond grey granite with contrasting long and short light grey dressings finely finished to margins. Base course; chamfered cills to ground floor; projecting cills to 1st floor; radial voussoirs to Tudor-arched openings; overhanging eaves with pierced zig-zag bargeboards; 2-light Y-traceried windows to attic floor.
SE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical; 4-bay comprising mirrored pair of 2-bay houses; doorways to centre to bays with keystone details, panelled timber doors, glazed to No 10, with timber dentil mouldings to lintels, fanlight above, small windows flanking to inside bays; gableted timber dormers to attic floor above; gabled bays advanced to outer left and right; canted windows to ground floor, decorative iron brattishing to roof of that to left; window to centre of gablehead above; timber finial to apex.
NE ELEVATION: gabled; single window centred in gable; timber kingpost detail.
NW ELEVATION: not seen 2000.
SW ELEVATION: gabled; single window centred in gable.
Predominantly 2-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof with lead ridge. Coped granite gablehead and ridge stacks with octagonal cans. Cast-iron rainwater goods.
INTERIORS: not seen 2000.
BOUNDARY WALLS: low coped granite walls to SE; rubble walls to SW and NE.
