This is a terrace of houses, built between 1920 and 1939, representing an early public housing scheme in Newry and offering a contrast to later developments in the area. The terrace is divided into six blocks, numbered 1-6, 7-10, 11-18, 19-26, 27-34, and 35-42. The houses are two storeys high and have two bays each, constructed of plain red brick. Each house has a pre-cast concrete canopy above the front door, and all windows have been altered. Front and rear gardens are present. A resolution for the construction of these houses, with an estimated cost of £13,000, was adopted by Newry Urban District Council in 1924. The houses appear in the 1926 valuation revision book, initially listed as vacant, suggesting construction occurred between 1925 and 1926, with occupancy beginning in 1927.
