The terrace at 2-16 Mountain Road in Kilkeel comprises eight two-storey houses, some with three bays. The terrace steps up in level between numbers 12 and 14. Construction occurred between 1820 and 1839, with the earliest buildings located where numbers 2, 4, and 6 stand today. These original dwellings were likely one-storey thatched structures and were exempt from valuation in 1834. The remainder of the terrace was built later: number 8 in 1874, numbers 10 and 12 in 1877, and numbers 14 and 16 in 1887. It is believed the original structures were heightened or rebuilt during this period. The roofs are pitched and covered with artificial slates, except for number 16 which has natural slates. Numbers 6 through 14 have skylights to the front, while number 16 has two dormers. The exterior walls are modern wet dashed, except for numbers 6 and 14, which have smooth rendered finishes. Number 6 features a semi-elliptical coach arch on its right-hand side. The buildings have modern top-hung timber casement windows and modern doors. Rainwater goods are a mix of metal and plastic half-round. A 1970 survey card noted the presence of sliding sash windows and five modern doors. Extensive alterations to the properties mean they now retain no features of special architectural interest.
