Description

Small, one and a half storey gabled house of c.1880s with porch. The building is set a few metres to the SW side of Rademan Unitarian meeting house, roughly 2 miles W of Crossgar. The house may have been built as the residence for the master of the near by national school (now the church hall). The front gable faces SW and is asymmetrical. To the right of the ground floor is a small gabled porch. To the NW façade of the porch is a modern panelled and glazed door. To the SW face is a semicircular arched window with modern frame. Label moulding above window. The porch has a slated roof with finial. To the left of the porch (on main front gable) is a flat arch window with modern frame and label moulding. To the first floor is a similar window. The NW façade has two windows as previous. The SE façade has a small window with modern frame to the upper floor. The rear gable has two modern windows to the first floor with a timber sheeted door to the ground floor with adjacent window (with modern frame). The entire façade is rendered. The gabled roof is slated and has small finials. Central rendered chimney stack. The rw goods appear to be cast iron.
