Single storey byre facing SW now converted to office use. The roof is painted corrugated iron with concrete verges but no chimney. The down pipes are turned onto the gable at left. Gutters are half round metal. Walls are wet dashed and painted. No eaves corbel. Principal elevation to yard. The front wall to right of centre has a pair of sheeted carriage doors set within a shallow segmental arch. A half glazed door screen is set to the inner face of the masonry. To left of doors is a 2/2 exposed box window with granite cill (external bell above) and a bulkhead lamp at extreme left. To right of window is a post box. In the left gable there are no openings. An alarm bell is mounted in apex. The rear wall has three openings: a 1/1 sash to left, and two 2/2 sashes to right. There is also a plastic vent and flue. Setting: This is a prominent site overlooking the Kilkeel River. It is delineated by dry boulder granite walls, partly original, part rebuilt and part new. The few perimeter trees are of importance to the character of the site. Carriageways are paved in quarry dust/crushed shalestone and edged with granite kerbstones. Walkways are granite setts and the remaining open space is grass with small beds of flowers. There are a number of gates. Some are old, but those on the vehicular entrances are newly made to traditional designs. Each house has a specially designed cast metal plaque as part of the refurbishment. The right gable has no openings.
