Description

Two contiguous stores situated behind the Town Hall, between the Newry river and canal. The complex is trapezoidal in plan, with the narrow end to the south. The main features of interest are the roofs, which are of Belfast truss construction (described below). The buildings themselves are of painted random rubble. There are large garage doors on the south wall of the south building, and boarded window openings along the walls at east and west. There was originally a third building with Belfast truss roof to the north of the existing ones, but this was recently fire damaged and has since collapsed. The length of the entire building measures roughly 37.4m.
