Description

Two storey building set in a terrace on the east side of Hill Street. Its only feature of interest is a rectangular plaque with royal crest to second floor. Roof was not inspected but has cyma recta rain water goods. Wall to façade is painted smooth render. Modern shopfront to ground floor with illuminated box sign. To first floor are two windows, both with keyblocked, moulded architrave. Both windows are boarded up. There are two segmentally headed windows to second floor. Each is detailed as first floor; and contain modern casement window. Between the two windows at second floor is a rectangular stucco plaque with embossed cartouche within. Cartouche consists of a scrolled edged shield divided Per-quarterly, its 1st and 4th quarters are gules (red) and plain, its 2nd quarter is vert (green) with an unknown emblem and its 3rd is vert (green) with an embossed harp. Cartouche is ringed by a belt, and topped with a Royal crown. To left is supported by a lion rampant and to right by a unicorn rampant (and chained). Both stand on a foliated plinth which incorporates a scroll (originally containing a motto?). Left elevation is abutted by adjoining building; right elevation is abutted by adjoining building. Rear elevation was not inspected.
