Dromene and Knockdonagh, 19 Chapel Road, Bessbrook, Co. Armagh, BT35 7AU

These are an attached pair of symmetrical, two-storey, three-bay houses with two-storey rear returns. The houses have a painted smooth render finish, a natural slate roof, painted stone cills, stone quoins, and a central door case featuring a segmental arched fanlight, side lights, and a panelled painted timber door beneath a timber canopy. Rectangular section chimneys are rendered and project from the gables. The ground floor windows are arranged in three parts. Knockdonagh has replacement timber casement windows with horizontal glazing bars, while Dromene retains double-hung sliding timber sash windows with glazing bars to the front elevation and timber casements to the rear. The windows have a mixture of cast iron and uPVC restrictor/release gear mechanisms (RWGs), and the building has half-round guttering discharging to circular-section downpipes. An outbuilding is located to the rear. The buildings were initially surveyed but not listed, and a partial record was taken during a second survey as they do not warrant full architectural or historical significance.
