Description
A much altered and extended former RUC (Royal Ulster Constabulary) station, comprising a two-storey, multi-bay pitched roof building two bays deep, with a two-bay block narrowly projecting to the northwest. The main structure features painted roughcast walling with later reinforced concrete applied to the base and around the main entrance. The roof has been replaced with corrugated metal.
The central two bays of the main block project to the southwest. The entrance door, positioned to the southeast of this projecting section, is framed by pilasters and has a classical square-headed door case with keystone detail and sheet metal door. Window architraves are finished in smooth render, with more detailed decorative architraves above the door. Metal top opening casement windows are fitted throughout, with steel plates installed over them.
The boundary to the northwest is marked by a high wall of some architectural interest. The original decorative cast iron foot gate with lock to the southwest is also noteworthy. Access to the building during survey was limited, restricting full observation of all details.
