Description
This is a small, vernacular-style Orange Hall dating from between 1840 and 1859. It is situated on the east side of Springhill Road, set back a few metres from the road. The hall is a single storey building with a gabled slate roof and a small rear return. The front elevation, facing Springhill Road, features two shuttered vertical windows and a single square-headed, black-painted door. The walls are harled and painted a light ochre colour, with a half-round gutter and a single downpipe. The gable walls are similarly treated and are windowless. The rear wall has a return built with unplastered concrete blocks and a shallow, corrugated iron roof, with a tall chimney stack in one corner. It is shown on an Ordnance Survey map dated 1832, revised 1856, and identified as Ballindrum Orange Hall. The building is owned by the Orange Order and currently operates as a hall.
