Graveyard (Cofl) Lawford Street, Moneymore, Magherafelt

This is a Church of Ireland graveyard, dating to between 1760 and 1779, located on Lawford Street in Moneymore, Magherafelt. It encompasses the former site of St John’s Church. The graveyard is enclosed by a substantial, random rubble stone boundary wall with an entrance from Lawford Street, marked by square stone rubble piers and double wrought iron gates. The site is now largely full of graves and headstones. The graveyard represents the location of the parish's second church, built in Lawford Street in 1767, following an initial church built in 1622 in the townland of Ballymully. Very little remains of the original church building itself. The graveyard is situated within the Moneymore conservation area and is owned by the local government.
