Description
This is a small, single-arch road bridge, likely constructed around 1840, carrying the Loughdoo Road over a stream. The bridge is built primarily of basalt rubble, with roughly dressed voussoirs forming the semicircular arch. Low parapets with rough stone copings are present on both sides of the structure. The western face of the bridge is slightly battered. Situated approximately six miles south of Glenarm, the bridge is located in a picturesque setting. A bridge is depicted on an Ordnance Survey map from 1857, but not on the map of 1832. The bridge is of industrial archaeological interest and is currently in use. Ownership is by central government.
