Description

This is a Victorian house, likely constructed between 1860 and 1879. It is situated in open countryside near the village of Ballycarry, at the end of a long, straight driveway leading to a front entrance gateway and iron gates. The house is two storeys high with a two-storey rear addition. It is finished with smooth, painted cement render, and has a symmetrical front facade five windows wide to the first floor. The windows are rectangular timber sliding sash windows, vertically hung with a 1 over 1 glazing pattern and horns. The ground floor has three bays, with a central entrance flanked by tripartite windows, all set within segmental arched openings. The entrance has sidelights and a fanlight. The outbuildings are constructed from basalt rubble.

The house appears on Ordnance Survey maps from 1902, by which time it was named "Greenfield." An unnamed building occupied the site in 1831, and a differently configured building named "Greenfield" was shown on the 1858 Ordnance Survey map. It was later known as "Manse Farm" on maps from 1965.
